Seedy Saturday KELOWNA 2012
Saturday, March 10th at the Okanagan College KLO Campus in Kelowna
Wilma, Lulu and Darlene offered up gardening advice to many Seedy Saturday patrons. The majority of the questions were around growing food crops so Master Gardeners had to step up the vegetable and herb planting, care and maintenance solutions. Discussions reverted to last year's crop and why there was so much mildew on the zucchini, chard and a host of other crops. Last year the Okanagan had a cool, wet spring and summer with the real heat not arriving until August so many plants were affected by this unusual weather pattern. We are hoping this spring and summer provides gardeners with better growing conditions. We can do our best to mitigate some problem areas but in the end all we can do is hope!
