HOT OFF THE PRESS from South of the Border

As you know, we encourage all members of the public when they access our site to let us know if there is anything new out there in the horticultural world so we can expand our 'links to knowledge'.

We recently were contacted by a group of GRADE 5 students and their teacher from Eliot School in Boston, Massachusetts, who found our site and used it as part of their learning experience.

Master Gardeners in BC are always encouraged that young students are taking an interest in the gardening world: including learning to dig, plant, grow, eat and nurture vegetables and flowers; using proper soil management and pest control to get the best from what they plant and grow; and passing on their knowledge to others, so that the learning cycle continues.

Thanks to the “Grade Fivers” who took the time to let us know they used our site as one of their teaching tools. We appreciated their note and wish them well as they become better students in the always fascinating world of gardening.
